Hungry Shark World review

All those lasers make my screen wobbly!

Hungry Shark World review

Introduction

Today we are going to review another shark game, the sharks are hungry for more meat in the next game of the hungry series! Some sharks might make a comeback, while others will be completely new. New mechanics will be bound to shake you up, while other mechanics make a comeback. The balance skill of gems and gold also work different. The missions have also been updated, there is still no story in this game.

What did I think before playing Hungry Shark Evolution?

While we had a lot of fun with the previous Shark game, aka Hungry shark 1. Would this game be better? Recording gameplay of a mobile game is always hard, it makes the graphics seem just a little more funky. What kind of sharks will go on a rampage this time? I was also wondering if there would be another open world, or perhaps it would be even bigger! There was only way I was going to find out more about this game, to the play store page!

The playstore page

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ubisoft.hungrysharkworld&hl=en&gl=US
There are a whopping 39 sharks to collect in this game, it seems they are hungrier than before! This time there would be multiple open worlds to unlock, two of them come with a special mode for the biggest and baddest sharks out there! However, all sharks needs a sidekick, will the baby sharks or pets actually help this time around? How will the equipment work? What are those high-tech gadgets? There is only one way to find out, eat lots of humans!

Rating

I rate Hungry Shark World with a 7.3 before playing. This game seemed to be more advanced compared to the first shark game!

Gameplay

It all starts out small, especially with this game. Your shark is just a tiny shark. However, you can eventually get giant sharks that eat whales! All the sharks have a unique ability, these are more expanded upon compared to the previous game. There is even a group of tiny sharks! You can get a bigger shark faster, however to unlock the special shark of one size, you need to level up all of that size! Would you like to have a mechanical Godzilla? That is also possible!

Each shark has their own quests, these usually are cumulative, meaning you no longer need to complete them in one go! Sometimes, you will encounter one of these quests, they are much easier to complete, not only will these quests earn you gold for the next shark, they will also net you blueprints, which will allow you to buy the mechanical Godzilla. One of the best sharks in the game! Then you need to farm pearls, another currency next to the gems! With gems, you can buy pets, equipment or other items! Gems are very easy to farm in this game once you have a big shark! This also means that pets and equipment are easy to come by!

Once you start unlocking more sharks, new islands will become available to explore, you could visit the lush Pacific Islands, or perhaps you would like to go to an Arctic level? If you have the guts, you can take on contests to earn big prizes! These will help you get the biggest, baddest shark easy! If you are looking for a good shark, the magic shark is awesome until you get a shark that you need pearls for to buy! Once you are further in the game, you can even collect additional items for more sharks! To get pearls, you need to play extinction mode, survive while mutations stack that will try to take you down!

Rating

I rate the gameplay of Hungry Shark World with an 8.0
This game has a lot more gameplay value, all sharks can be boosted with coins! There is no real need to purchase anything in this game!

Sound and Graphics

Graphics

The graphics are quite good, recording will get funky due to the fast pace of this game. It does not get the full time to load, add to that, I usually play with low settings for better performance, it was still prettier compared to the other game. The sharks do feel unique enough for this game. Some of the abilities make the game crunch hard, like giant laser beams for example!

Sound

The sound of this game gets annoying quickly. It was better to mute it, the soundtracks are quite repetitive. The sound effects get chompy, fast, as in you keep hearing non-stop chomping and crushing.

Rating

I rate the sound and graphics of Hungry Shark World with a 5.5
While it is a slight improvement, it is still better to mute the music and sound effects.

What did I think after playing Hungry Shark World?

While it is a lot of fun to start unlocking new sharks, get better equipment, finally get some pets. Repeating the level over and over can get boring. Luckily, the quests help with that. That is however where the problem comes in when you have almost completed each quests and unlocked the big bad Godzilla. Then you can crush your foes with ease, however, there is a powered up Godzilla, it is even more expensive!

Rating

I rate Hungry Shark World with a 7.9 after playing.
While it has been a while since a huge update took place, new sharks are being added, like the abyss shark!

What are my personal thoughts about Hungry Shark World?

It was a lot of fun to play this game, I even managed to unlock the Godzilla shark! It can even walk on land and blow everything up! Extinction mode gets quite boring after twenty tries to get more pearls.

Rating

My personal Rating of Hungry Shark World is 6.0
While it was better compared to the first game, it would get boring after a few runs.

Last Words

Pros

Cons

Chomp your way through all the humans, or sharks for that matter. What kind of power will you wield? Magic? Necromancy? it is all up to you!

  1. The game sounds fun like the previous game, though it seems to be mostly the same aside from a few enhancements. A Godzilla shark sounds and looks very cool though! Thank you for the review!
