Country Star review

Introduction

Today we are going to look at a game called Country Star, a mobile game that promises the glitz and glamour of the country music world. It beckoned me with its intriguing title. As a casual admirer of country music, I was interested in this game. There will not be a story in this review.

What did I think before playing Country Star?

Before diving into Country Star, I held a mix of excitement and skepticism. Country music-themed games are a rare breed, and I wondered if the developers could capture the essence of the genre while delivering an engaging gameplay experience. To learn more, I decided to check out the Google Play Store.

The Google Play Store Page

The Google Play Store provided a glimpse into the game’s features, showcasing various in game activities. It seemed to have the same gameplay style as another game that I have reviewed not too long ago. Once again we have to collect many songs and tap to the beat. I wonder if the gameplay had something to set it apart.

Rating

I rated Country Star with a 6.8 before playing.
It seemed like a fun game but I wondered what would set this game apart.

Gameplay

The gameplay is quite mediocre, it is your job to collect multiple songs, all these songs are based in the country genre. It would be weird if it wasn’t, right? Once you have collected some songs, you can select them and then enter the stage. It is your job to tap on the beat. The better you perform on tapping on the beat, the higher your score will be.

If you were to mess up, you will need to replay the whole song or watch an advertisement. This can be quite annoying as this advertisement will pull you out of the flow. Thus, it might be the best to just replay the song. If you complete the song, then you will get stars based on how well you have performed.

These stars will help you level up, as you level up, you will unlock more songs to play. These might even include hard or extreme songs. These will be much harder to complete. After playing each song, you will earn points that will net you a case where you can find cards to unlock the latest songs you have unlocked with your level up.

Rating

I rated the gameplay of Country Stars with a 6.3
The gameplay is very repetitive, however, listening to the songs is fun, though.

Sound and Graphics

Graphics

The graphics are not very good, it is a simple HUD and the levels are mostly one line where you need to tap and a background. Thus, I will have to detract some points as the graphics are not good.

Sound

True to its theme, Country Star delivers a stellar auditory experience. The game features a well-curated playlist of country tunes that perfectly complements the gameplay.

Rating

I rated the sound and graphics of Country Stars with a 6,5
while the sound is good, the graphics pull this rating down.

What did I think after playing Country Stars?

While it was fun to level up and try multiple country songs, especially the harder ones. This game got old and boring very fast. It is indeed true that finding a Country-based game is hard, but this has to be your thing. The genre is extremely niche, however, if you do like Country music then tapping to these beats might be something you will enjoy.

Rating

I rated Country Stars with a 5.5 after playing.
While fun, this game got old fast.

What are my personal thoughts about Country Stars?

While I had expected this to much more fun, I was kind of disappointed. Nonetheless, I enjoyed making this review.
