Duke Nukem top 5 list

Introduction

Today, we have a new list prepared for you, the Duke is back, and this time we want to know which Duke game rocks the best? There can, of course, only be one true Duke Nukem winner, there was a Duke Nukem game that won the first place in another list, he will not be joining us today. He already has a prize, sorry, Serious Duke 3D!

5: Duke Nukem Zero Hour

This is a third-person game of Duke Nukem, this makes aiming very hard, especially if I count the inverted controls that plagued me. I have no idea or why, but it eventually worked out. It did make killing the enemies hard, though!

The graphics are not pretty, there are also things that can kill you rapidly. However, the worst thing is the jumping animation! It is slow, hard to move, and oh my god, who jumps like that? All in all, if you can live with third person, then this Duke game might be perfect for you.

4: Duke Nukem Xtreme

This is a game that is a bit outdated, or I have to say, expansion. You can only play the maps since the DOS BOX launcher does not work properly with the correct modifier that does not exist anymore. The levels are low quality, but the maps themselves are fun to play!

There are twenty-five levels to complete, who does not want to play that many levels of Duke Nukem? If you want to kick ass and chew bubblegum, what am I saying, of course you are out of bubblegum, then this is a very fun expansion to play!

3: Duke Nukem Dukes it out in D.C

The next on the list is an outstanding Duke Nukem expansion that has numerous Easter Eggs, some of them related to the X-Files. Not only that, there are many puzzles for you to figure out. For some of them, you will need to back track as you gather new key cards.

The graphics in this game had me quite stifled, it is insane how they managed to pull this off. If you are a fan of Duke Nukem, and you want to show those aliens why they should not mess with humans, then this might be a perfect game for you.

2: Duke Nukem Life is a Beach

Everyone earns a vacation, even the Duke, of course, the aliens think differently about that. As they once again pester Duke Nukem while he is just enjoying the beach. There is only thing to do, destroy them. One of the wonderful things about this expansion is the fact your weapons have amazing skins!

There are some clipping issues and places where you can clip through the walls. Then there are the few bugs, but compared to the fun you will have while once again going through a great adventure, that is nothing. In my opinion, this is the best official expansion of the Duke.

1: Duke Nukem Forever 2013

Duke Nukem Forever had been in production hell for a long time, and what eventually came out of it, was not what people expected. Thus, someone made a mod of what it should have been. This mod has great cutscenes, many fantastic levels, weapons, and all of these levels are big. Like huge.

Then there is the fact, you can ride on a motorcycle, I loved that part, or what about a part where you ride on a donkey? And this mod is even free to download, if you are desiring an epic Duke Nukem game, this is what you are looking for!

  1. okay which one do you recommend to someone who didn't play any Duke Nukem before? I'd appreciate one that has some QoL features and is not too long.

    • I would recommend Duke Nukem Life is a Beach, but, play it on a low difficulty to get in touch with the controls and enemies. Otherwise, the 20th world tour edition has some nice features for newer players.

  2. So much Duke Nukem! I've only played the original 3D one and didn't know so many expansions/mods existed!

All of these look great, except for Zero Hour. The third-person controls seem pretty bad.

    • While they look bad, wait until you realize the controls were inverted for me!

    • Yeah, it happens sometimes (enderal, fall from heaven2, etc) . I recommend checking for mods before playing a new game in case they fix bugs or improve gameplay/visuals

  5. I'm glad you allow modded and fan games on your lists, as they can be so good that they are superior to official products, and they are often in great need of more attention! Though, not so much attention that they risk getting into legal trouble by the official game publishers, of course.

  9. If I had to choose, I'd say "Duke Nukem Life is a Beach" is the best, simply because its name fits the Duke's character so much, hahah.

Plus, those modders for DN Forever should have been hired to fix the game. XD
