Introduction
Today we are going to look at an Indie developer who has created a Maple clone. Since we Dutch people can no longer decently play Maplestory, the last time I checked, I was curious to see how this one panned out. It also seems to be an idle game, and on mobile. There is only one way to find if this game is worth your time, I am not going to write a story section for this review.
What did I think before playing Maple Heroes?
It has been a while since I played any kind of Maplestory games. So, when I got an ad for Maple Heroes, I was intrigued to see what kind of game this is. I know there is a Maplestory port, I have, however, never played the Mobile port of Maplestory. Now, I saw this is some kind of idle game where you can also summon pets. It appears that there will be a lot of loot for you to collect as you also need to gather new pets. You will also need to level up while going through stages, it is clear that this game is trying to sell itself as Maplestory. It clearly is not, and there are also many bad reviews. There is only one way to find out what this game truly has to offer, I have to download and play it.

This game is clearly trying to cash in by looking like a famous game while pretending that is an accident. If the gameplay is actually good, I think we can ignore the fact it tries to be something it clearly isn’t.
Gameplay
The game starts with a big disappointment, not only is this a very idle game, the game is very cluttered. It got even worse as I unlocked more things to do. You also get plenty of notifications to spend money. While playing the levels, you get teamed up automatically with other people and I have no idea why.
There is a lot of lag in the game, you randomly get kicked while playing. As of fighting enemies, you will be more busy with summoning pets, upgrading them or doing other things like enhancing your gear. The chat is full of toxic people and next to Maplestory being ripped off, you can use genes to upgrade your monsters, the eggs are the same from Monster Hunter Stories, and the genes are also named the same.
There is barely any true progress as you continue. If you liked Maplestory, it is better to avoid this game, since it has nothing to do with Maplestory. The only thing was ripped graphical assets. I guess, we will never find a good replacement for Maplestory. I quickly quit this game as this rip off is no fun at all. The slow and cluttered menus are the worst.

This game is a clone and rip off from many games, there is an insane P2W wall, the game is laggy, you get kicked, everything is cluttered.
Sound and Graphics
Graphics
The graphics are horrible, they are just ripped from Maplestory, that is all. The bingo gene system from Monster Hunter Stories also got ripped off. Even some monster designs and the summoning part. The user interface is so cluttered, I can barely see the screen. Most of the graphics are horrendous.
Sound
I don’t even want to talk about how ripped off and bad the soundtrack is. The sound effects lag all the time and just disappear, the soundtracks get thrown together, it is one big mess!

What did I think after playing Maple Heroes?
The worst part about this game is that it keeps recommending you to purchase items. This whole game is one big cash grab with ripped of graphics. Some basic features like speed up are hidden behind monthly passes, there are monsters you can only beat if you pay to become stronger.
The costumes give the highest buffs, but to get them, you will need to pay insane amounts of money. There are people high on top of the leaderboard, you will never beat them without paying. The worst part might be how the user interface is cluttered. I can barely find anything.

A clear rip off, that is all this game is.
