Megaman X dive review

Introduction

Today we are going to look at another Megaman game, we are diving into a spin-ff called Megaman X dive. In this game, you will be able to take control of many characters that have been established in the Megaman universe.  There are many missions to complete, and plenty of bugs to clear out. I will not feature a story mode in this review because this is a mobile game.

What did I think before playing Megaman X Dive?

This game looked like a lot of fun when I was looking for a fun mobile game to play, but I was worried about it being too much pay to win. There is of course only one way to find out if this game is indeed pay to win, to play! I only knew you would be playing through stages where you could also collect secrets; thus I went to the Google Play Store Page.

The Google Play Store

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tw.com.capcom.rxd&hl=en&gl=US

It is clear that this game did not originate in the US, which soon becomes clear as you hear Japanese voice acting, at least I think it is Japanese. It did not bother me too much, there will be many enemies that need to be destroyed in the deep log, you can play as many characters, but there are gacha elements.

Rating

I rated Megaman X Dive with a 7.1 before playing.
It seemed to be a fun Megaman game that you can take with you.

Gameplay

The gameplay consists of many elements, but you start with equipping a decent weapon for range, since you want to obliterate your enemies with bullets! Since your buster sometimes needs to recharge, you will also need a sword. The game has plenty of different weapons from all kinds of Megaman games. I picked one that poisons the enemies. All weapons have their own special abilities, you can level them up as high as your own rank.

You will also need to choose a character, there are a lot of them and getting good ones might be hard. But if you just pick an S rank character that you like, you will be fine, I picked Protoman, I liked his design. The game has an easy way to upgrade your characters, it might take some time to get enough character shards.

There are many more elements like armor and cards, along with the idea of, the more you collect, the stronger you become. Then there are chips to increase your weapon power. There are plenty of stages to complete and alternate game modes like destroying bosses and while you have energy that you need to play stages. You will have so much energy, you won’t even know what to do with it.

Rating

I rated the gameplay of Megaman X Dive with a 7.3.
I am just glad this game does not shove ads down your throat.

Sound and Graphics

Graphics

The graphics of Megaman X Dive are actually neat, it uses many elements from other Megaman games without actually copying it. Many enemies and bosses make a comeback, it is like all Megaman elements thrown together to make a game.

Sound

The soundtrack is energetic and keeps you on your toes, and the voice acting is good, I had no complaints at all.

Rating

I rated the graphics soundtrack of Megaman X Dive with a 7.7
I was quite surprised it looked this good for a Mobile game!

What did I think after playing Megaman X Dive?

I enjoyed collecting many of the different characters and weapons in this game. Every time a new event starts for the gacha, you will get ten draws for free. And in multiple of these draws, I got the advertised character for that event. Meaning, the odds are not skewed for the free draws. Once, I even got the special character twice in that draw!

There are even modes where you can play co-op, but the PVP battles did not interest me much, most of the matches were unfair in my eyes. There is no way I can beat someone who is fifty levels higher compared to me. However, if you are looking at the other modes, there is a lot of fun!

Rating

I rated Megaman X Dive with a 7.4 after playing.
A fun mobile game!

What are my personal thoughts about Megaman X Dive?

I thoroughly enjoyed this game, there was a lot more to it than I had thought. Luckily, ads were not something this game offers! No random interruptions at all.

Rating

My personal Rating of Megaman X Dive is a 6.9
A fun Megaman game!

  12. Meh, it's unavailable in my area.

Plus, it's a mobile game platformer, I always find controls in them hard to handle.

Also, this Megaman game is barely anything Megaman other than the name. >_>

  13. It's actually nice you stated this early on in your review: "I will not feature a story mode in this review because this is a mobile game."

The game seems to have more pros than cons, esp. that no ads are there to interrupt the gameplay.
