Slime Evolutionary Path review

Introduction

Today we are going to look at a hidden gem that I found on the Google Play Store. I actually stumbled upon it, the name is weird, very weird, I also cannot just call it Slime Evolution since there is another game that has that name, thus, today we’ll review Slime Evolutionary Path. There is a slight story in this game, so, I decided to add a story section.

What did I think before playing Slime Evolutionary Path?

I did not know what to really expect from this game, I just saw a picture of a slime that could evolve, and I went, eh, what the hell. At my first glimpses I saw it was not downloaded a lot, it did not have a real header, and it also seemed to be some kind of idle game. Since my knowledge was very scare, I decided to check the Google Play Store.

The Google Play Store Page

At first glance, I had to check if I was right, but there are ten evolutions for your slime to unlock. There are also seemed to be equipment that you can gather to enhance your slime and even color changes. You can also gain resources by idling, but you would have to upgrade it with the coins that you earn. It is time to put this hidden slime to the test!

Rating

I rated Slime Evolutionary Path with a 7.7 before playing.
This game seemed like a very fun game that mixes action with idling. There are many features and I doubt that microtransactions will be needed, but they might be available.

Story

The story starts with you, Mumu the slime, realizing something whacky has happened since you have been isekaid to another world as a slime. It does not take long before a magical lady finds you and tells you that you hold insane power, you just have to train by killing monsters. It is your goal to take down monstrous dungeon bosses!

Rating

I rate the story Slime Evolutionary Path with a 7.9
While the story does not follow through very well at the end, it is something new at least. I liked there was a clear incentive to add a story. Also, Isekai!

Gameplay

At the beginning of the game, you will need to learn the ropes. This might be more difficult than you expect. You will need to battle enemies, this goes automatically, but if you do not upgrade your slime, you will soon find yourself defeated. As you battle enemies, you will find Arms stones, these can be equipped to gain extra buffs, the higher the level, the more attack, defense and health points they will give.

You will also need to evolve, there are many different paths to take and all of them lead to other evolutions for you to try, don’t worry, your choices are not permanent. When you cannot progress anymore, and you have been defeated, you will need to rebirth. This is important as it makes you stronger in multiple ways.

When you rebirth, you will lose all your equipment, except for your magic relics. These can be gained from clearing dungeons, and they even give you very strong abilities, like healing, or buffs! These can be used to supplement the build you are trying to make with evolving. It is essential to upgrade these relics, that can be done by farming other relics and salvaging them.

There are other buffs like talents, but these can only be reset a few times, or you might need to spend gems. You get gems each day by logging in, or watching a few ads. Since you do not get many gems, you need to spend them wisely, for example, you could save for a super skill. All in all, you do not need the gems that hard, there is no need to buy them. You can play and enjoy the game without them and still get to insane enemies without them.

Rating

I rated the gameplay of Slime Evolutionary Path with an 8.7
If you are looking for a fun mobile game where you do not need to spend money and still has good gameplay mechanics, then this is the game that you are looking for.

Sound and Graphics

Graphics

While the graphics are quite simple and there are not many monsters to find, they are very polished. The user interface is clean and simple to use, the slime can change color, which is a bonus. This game might be simple, but that is what it is trying to do, it is not flashy, but it is clean and fun to look at.

Sound

The soundtracks are quite funny and fitting, and I did enjoy it, along with the sound effects. While nothing special, it does what it needs to do.

I rated the sound and graphics of Slime Evolutionary Path with a 7.0
I enjoyed the graphics, the slime looks so happy!

What did I think after playing Slime Evolutionary Path?

I have spent quite some time to upgrade Mumu and get better relics to clear even more and higher level dungeons. I have to admit that this game can be addicting. Even when your slime does most of the work to exterminate the enemies that you face. There is just so much to do in this game, each rebirth makes you stronger.

It is important in this game to ensure that you choose the attribute points and abilities that suit your gameplay style. Luckily, you can rebirth and evolve all over to choose a new path if you so desire. At one moment, you will die, and those level 100 enemies that seem strong in the beginning will be weak pushovers.

Rating

I rated Slime Evolutionary Path with an 8.1 after playing.
You can spend a lot of time with this game and not get bored! It is time to become a very strong slime!

What are my personal thoughts about Slime Evolutionary Path?

While I stumbled upon this game accidentally, I did enjoy it very much, it is an amazing time killer. I also enjoyed unlocking new slime colors and seeing what kind of benefit this new color might hold for me.

Rating

My personal Rating of Slime Evolutionary Path with an 8.5
This was a very fun game to play, and I highly recommend you try it! Not only that, I noticed there is a sequel, time to play the next game in this franchise.
