Introduction
Today we are going to look at a racing game, are you all geared up to charge up and plow your way through manic levels while trying to finish in first place? We are going to look at Hot Wheels Unleashed. It is time to collect some cars and play career mode, in which you will race, there is no story, just races, and a lot of them! You can also collect cars!
What did I think before playing Hot Wheels Unleashed?
To be quite frank, I have nothing with Hot Wheels, I never liked them, or even collected them. However, this seemed like a fun racing game. We have not had one of those in a while. Games with toy cars interest me more than actual cars. It makes no sense but they are more fun and easier to drive, I will probably still crash a few! Since I don’t know a lot about racing games, we went to the Steam page!

It seems that collecting the cars is indeed an aspect of this game. Then you can choose your favorite car and race, or do what I do and pick the one with the highest stats and hope it can brake a little, or it might fly everywhere. We also need to drift, if it works the same as in Mario Kart, I might be fine. There is only one way to find. Oh, and for the people who like it, it seems there is a room you can decorate, and a level editor!

This seems like a decent game with toy cars, gotta be the best of ’em all!
Gameplay
This game starts off with giving you a few free cars. If you dislike them, just close the game and try again. You will not have saved the game yet, thus you will get them again for free, without keeping the other ones. You can keep trying for a legendary car. Or you might have luck, and get one early in the game. We are going to focus on the career mode. There are also time trials, and some other races you can do.
As you race, you will earn coins to buy new cars. If you dislike them, you can dismantle or sell them. Parts can be used to upgrade low tier cars. Some of the legendary cars cannot be upgraded, otherwise they would get too overpowered. Once you have selected a race, and a car, you will need to time the start just right to get a boost. This might be harder than you think. If done well, you will start with some booster. Pump up that nitro!
As you race, you will notice there are eleven opponents to beat. They are fast, and if you want to beat them, you will need to use your drifting skills properly. If you drift well when turning a corner, you will get boost power, these are needed to get the upper hand, and for making loops. You can defy gravity! There are many races to play, and some secrets to discover on the world map. Can you beat them all!?

There are quite a lot of gameplay features, many cars to collect, and a lot of fun races. This game surprised me, it is an actual fun racing game with proper mechanics!Â
Sound and Graphics
Graphics
The graphics of Hot Wheels Unleashed are not bad at all. They are enjoyable, as there are many different levels to see, with intricate details, such as a dinosaur in the background! Then there is the world map, which also has details. It is just a board, but it is done well. The races themselves look great, flying cars!
Sound
The soundtracks are fun to listen to, they get you in the vibe of this racing game! Enjoy the sweet music as you pummel your opponent with bashes and see them fly off course!

There are a lot of different cars to look at! The names are a bit odd, but it might be because I have never collected Hot Wheels!
What did I think after playing Hot Wheels Unleashed?
When I started to play this game, I did not expect to like it at all. Since I usually avoid racing games. They are not in my taste, however, I want to review them. Finding a good racing game is hard. There are so many sequels of famous racing games. The toy cars are always fun, the driving in this game feels very smooth.
As you play the game, you will unlock more and more cars. They are neat to look at, but their stats are what is important, unless you are a fashion gamer. Then you want the best looking car. Luckily, there are many cars to collect, common cars, rare cars, and the coveted legendary cars! Who does not want a legendary car that will most likely, win you a lot of races!?

The mechanics are great for this game, it feels balanced, there are a lot of races to do, and many cars to collect.
What are my personal thoughts about Hot Wheels Unleashed?
This game is a lot more fun than I had expected. The races feel fun and keep you on the edge of your seat. Even if you make a mistake, it is possible to win. When you have a fast car, it might fly somewhere you don’t want it too. Luckily, you can respawn at checkpoints that you find in every race.

- Become a fashion victim as you choose a pretty car instead of a good car
- There are many cars to unlock.
- The graphics and soundtrack ar good.
- There is a big overworld map to explore with many rewards for you to earn.
- Drift and boost like there is no tomorrow!
Cons
- It might be hard to get into the flow of the game as you start off with bad cars.
- If you are not good in racing games, expect to fall of the course a few times.
I really enjoyed getting a legendary car early on, however that thing was hard to steer. It is like a bullet bill that is out of control!
