Lonely Mountains: Downhill review

Where is Erebor?

Lonely Mountains: Downhill review

Introduction

Today we are going to look at a sports game, and it is a biking game with a pretty difficult name. The game we are going to look at is called, Lonely Mountains: Downhill. This game made me feel so lonely, there was no one else on that mountain. You will need to bike down tracks, preferably without crashing your bike and dying. There will be no story in this review as you will just be biking

What did I think before playing Lonely Mountains: Downhill?

I was looking for a sports game to review, and I did not which one to choose. Thus, I opened the Game pass app, and randomly picked one of the sports games! This is the result of that, what can you expect from this game? I truly had no idea, I saw mountains, and a bike, I did not get much farther than that. It is time to visit the Steam page for the best information!

The first thing that I noticed, is that it might be important to use the controller. Luckily, we have that.`They promise tight and precise controls while you can find your own way down the mountain, preferably alive. Because dead is not really the best to seek on a lonely mountain. There also seems to be many challenges, but it looks like a fun game for bike lovers.

Rating

I rate Lonely Mountains: Downhill with a 7.1 before playing.
This did not seem like my kind of game, but, I was interested

Gameplay

The most important thing of this game is that you have a fixed angle when biking down the mountain. There are many mountains to choose from. It is your goal to get down in either a fast pace, or just explore, whatever you feel up too. There are different ways to get down the mountain.

As you complete challenges, you will get new ways to customize your bike, that means you can also unlock whole new bikes if you complete these challenges. If you are a fashion victim, there are also new helmets to unlock and shirts. It is all up to you, how long can you keep cycling down the mountain?

While cycling down the mountain, you will need to be precise with steering, the controls are indeed tight. If you however hit a rock, or a tree, your character will die. I don’t think I need to say this but if your character falls of the mountain, you are very dead. Luckily, each mountain has some checkpoints to make your life easier.

Rating

I rate the gameplay of Lonely Mountains: Downhill with a 7.3.
While this game can be fun, it is also a bit on the repetitive side.

Sound and Graphics

Graphics

The graphics of Lonely Mountains: Downhill are very basic and boring. The mountains all look a little bit different, but all in all, not very good.

Sound

The soundtrack annoyed me a lot. The sound effects are fun in the beginning but that soon ends.

Rating

I rate the sound and graphics of Lonely Mountains: Downhill with a 4.1.
I think this game could have looked much better!

What did I think after playing Lonely Mountains: Downhill

The most fun I had in this game, was the different ways to die. This was totally not my kind of game and I messed up a lot of the attempts on challenges. I could just not get the grip on how to properly play this game. It quickly devolved into just dying in many different ways, how can I crash this bike?

The fashion items are not for me and to be honest, I barely noticed anything different when choosing a different bike. All I got good in when playing this game, is to find new ways to let this character die!

Rating

I rate Lonely Mountains: Downhill with a 6.5 after playing.
This game really needs to be your thing!

What are my personal thoughts about Lonely Mountains: Downhill

I did not like this game at all, if they had the lonely mountain from Lord of the Rings, I might have liked it more.

Rating

My personal Rating of Lonely Mountains: Downhill is a 3.3
I don’t think I like bikers, or biking down mountains.

Good review! This game would be better/easier if the camera angle would be from behind the cyclist.
