Magikarp Jump review

You should not let your Magikarp jump to much.

Magikarp Jump review

Introduction

Today we are literally going to jump to the moon, well not us, but my Magikarp is going to! What is a Magikarp? Well, most people will know what a Magikarp is, but for the people that do not know, a Magikarp is a Pokémon! That is correct, we are going to review a Pokémon game but not just any Pokémon game, we are going to review Magikarp Jump! Instead of battles, you will be jumping to win leagues!

What did I think before playing Magikarp Jump?

I did not know a lot about Magikarp Jump, I accidentally stumbled upon it when looking for a Pokémon game to review. I really like Magikarps, even though they make a weird sound instead of calling their name. Furthermore, I assumed that I needed to level and train up the Magikarp, but I did not know how. For more information, we went to the Wiki page.

The Wiki page

https://magikarpjump.fandom.com/wiki/Magikarp_Jump_Wiki
This page gives you all the information that you need before starting this game. The most important factor is off course that this game is free. I was most interested in finding new patterns of Magikarp, I wanted either a red or blue Magikarp. It is time to feed my Magikarp and start battling but to win, I might need a lot of generations to beat the game, a lot of Magikarp are going to retire.

Rating

I rate Magikarp Jump with an 8.6 before playing.
I’ve got to jump to the moon!

Story

The story is simple, the mayor wants to find someone that might beat the leagues and become a master. You have got to train the perfect Magikarp!

Rating

I rate the story of Magikarp Jump with a 5.0
The story is very weak, but it does get you started.

Gameplay

To start training your Magikarp, you will need to feed him/her. As you win battles, your rank will level up and more berries will become available. If you want to give your Magikarp a boost, you can go training by for example hitting a sandbag. You can upgrade berries and training regimes to gain more jump points for your Magikarp.

As you win leagues, you will also gain diamonds and items for other Pokémon to help you. For example, Pikachu will give you jump points, and meowth will give you gold. With your diamonds, you can summon special Pokémon like slowpoke. As you progress in the game, you will also find support candies that can be used to upgrade their skills.

You can also opt to buy decorations which will increase your base stats. It might upgrade the points gained from food or training, or maybe you will gain more gold. The biggest problem is that in the beginning you might only have a few things to do before you run out of things to do, but as you progress in the game, it will cost more time to complete all your tasks.

Rating

I rate the gameplay of Magikarp Jump with a 9.0
This game is quite amazing, you will train over 100 magikarps, that is, if you have the patience to play this game.

Sound and Graphics

Graphics

The graphics are limited since it is a mobile game, however it is a game made by Nintendo, and they put a lot of effort in the graphics. The best things, next to all the training scenarios, are the different colored Magikarp. There is even a pattern dex!

Sound

The soundtrack is on repeat, but the sound effects are good, despite that, Magikarp makes an annoying sound, no matter how lovable the creature is.

Rating

I rate the sound and graphics of Magikarp Jump with a 6.7.
The sound is cheery, but gets annoying in the long run. The Magikarps might be beautiful in different colors, but they make an annoying sound.

What did I think after playing Magikarp Jump?

The progress in Magikarp Jump is slow, but still fun. As you unlock new training regimes, you will also unlock new events. These events can help you raise your Magikarp quickly, however, some events can also kill your Magikarp, this means that you need to be careful!

It is your goal to raise many Magikarps, I have beaten the master league with my Super Karp, and it also shows all my Magikarp in the credits!

Rating

I rate Magikarp Jump with a 7.7 after playing.
To enjoy this game, you will need to get through the beginning though, while there are also microtransactions, they are not needed!

What are my personal thoughts about Magikarp Jump?

I had a lot of fun when playing Magikarp Jump, Likewise, collecting the new patterns is very fun. The events can be fun, until your Magikarp blows up.

Rating

My personal Rating of Magikarp Jump is a 7.3
I had a great time while collecting new Magikarps!

  10. Just what kind of franchise would become huge enough to produce not just a long-running video game series and theatrical cartoon movie series, but some punch of mobile-phone-style games about minor mons?
