Introduction
It seems that Donkey Kong has learned of the Rabbids as they have set foot on his island! And Rabbid Kong is back to steal his bananas! He teams up with Rabbid Cranky Kong and Princess Peach and, off course, Donkey Kong decides to blast them up with a banana gun. Man, it would suck to get killed by a banana gun, nonetheless, in this review we are going to look at the DLC of Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle! Is Donkey Kong Adventure worth your time?
What did I think before playing Mario Rabbids Donkey Kong Adventure?
This time around you will have to play as Donkey Kong who has two allies, but they also have weaker guns and less inflation in the damage scale. However, the question is, does it matter or are they powerful in their own way? We are going to explore Donkey Kong’s Island and rid it of the evil Rabbid Kong, who wants the bananas for himself. Wow, that is one huge link for a page with not a lot of information, however if we can expect the same goodness as the original game, we are in for a big treat! Who wants to shoot up Rabbids with a banana gun? We do! The challenges will be harder, but we will prevail!

Rabbid Cranky Kong has a banana crossbow, I do not know if that is weirder than a banana gun!
Story
The story is simple, Rabbid Peach messes up and ends up on a strange island where she finds Donkey Kong. However, Rabbid Kong is looking to gain more power using bananas, and he is still holding a grudge against Rabbid Peach! Can this unlikely trio of heroes stops Rabbid Kong and repair the TARDIS washing machine that Rabbid Peach broke!?

While fun, it is not as good as the original story!
Gameplay
As you only have three heroes, a lot of the customization of making your own team has been removed, but you still gain runes which act as experience points. This way, you can build up your own skill tree to fit the build that you want for each character. As you progress through the story, you will also unlock new weapons and secondary weapons!Â
As you explore the island, you will soon notice that the variation in puzzles is not the same as in the original as all puzzles, yes every one of them, is a block puzzle! Shuffle those blocks, over and over and over again! This gets annoying really fast, but you do want to complete the game 100%! Get that brain working and shuffle those blocks!
As you enter battles once again with your banana weapons, you will notice some changes compared to the original game. This time you can use dandelions to swing across the battlefield, Donkey Kong can pick up almost anything and throw it around! Your banana gun acts as a boomerang, thus put those enemies together for a nice banana shot!

Sound and Graphics
Graphics
The graphics are great just as in the original, there are quite some rehashed assets but also new ones that have been added! A lot of the enemies are new and also act differently! This means that you might need to switch up your tactics! I had hoped more Kongs would have shown up from the Donkey Kong games, though, it could have been a whole roster!
Sound
The music is not as good as the original but on par with what you would expect from a Mario game, especially if it is DLC! If you are looking for more Mario Rabbids, this DLC does provide that in both the graphics and sound department!

For a Donkey Kong adventurer, there are not a lot of Kong’s though!
What did I think after playing Mario Rabbids Donkey Kong Adventure?
While we did have a lot of fun with exploring the new areas, and also facing the battles, we disliked the numerous block puzzles! We can not get rid of them, there are too many of them! Where the original game alternated with different abilities, this game only has block puzzles! We are not sure why that is, though.
We did like the new weapons, banana guns! As well as the new skills for the two new heroes, however, Rabbid Peach was mostly untouched but just has new weapons and secondary weapons which are more on par of the damage for this DLC. There are also ultimate challenges, but they were ten time harder than the original game’s ultimate challenges!

I really disliked all the block puzzles but I did love the banana guns, it acts more like a boomerang banana gun though! If you are looking for a good DLC, this one offers you a lot for a low price!

If you are looking for more violence with Nintendo characters, not related to smashing each other’s but shooting, this DLC offers you just that, at least until Mario Rabbids 2 is released!
