Introduction
Today we are finally reviewing a racing game again, even though, racing is completely not my thing! And just any racing game, one that I am quite unfamiliar with. Super Mario Kart from the SNES! While this game might seem easy and not too complicated, it is actually very complete with each driver having different hidden attributes! There is no story in this game, you just race for first place!
What did I think before playing Super Mario Kart
It is just another racing game, while it is fairly simple. It is the game that started the milked out franchise of Mario Kart! We should really get a Nintendo Kart where you can choose characters from many different games. But today, we will see what the beginning of Mario has in store for us! another game that is very old! Despite that, we expect to have a lot of fun in this game! Who am I kidding? It is Mario Kart, you are going to get screwed over and over. For this racing game, it is wise to check who you are going to choose for driving. On this page, you can see the best drivers! There are four cups to play on, it is time to drive!

Can you drive in this game, that for some reason is extremely difficult? Or is that just my bad luck!?
Gameplay
There are different modes in this game, but we’re going to focus on the grand prix mode. There are three difficulties to choose from, 50cc, 100cc and one that needs to be unlocked, 150cc. There are quite some levels and not each character is suited for each level. This means, that you need to either go in blind, or research up front, back in the day, we just played whatever character felt best. If you want to bump other drivers away, you should choose Bowser!
While some of the characters have special items, you will mostly get green shells, these can be hard to aim, you can fire them in front of you, or to someone that is on your tail. When you are steering, you can also power slide through the course. This makes you go faster when turning. Man, I understand nothing of cars or driving.
If you want to go faster, you need to pick up those coins, they are, very flat. You can pick them up by driving over them. Each coin will increase your top speed. In some of the levels, there might be shortcuts, but you need a feather for a high jump, or a mushroom. Be careful, if you fall off, you are going to lose valuable time.

I rate the gameplay of Super Mario Kart with a 7.3.
This game might be more frustrating than fun at certain times, if you are winning it is fun!
Sound and Graphics
Graphics
The graphics of Super Mario Kart did not age very well but it does not mean that the graphics look bad. There are many more SNES games that look better. However, you are playing this for the game, not the graphics.
Sound
The soundtracks are fun, but not something special. The sound effects annoyed me more than that it helped.
Rating
I rate the sound and graphics of Super Mario Kart with a 6.3.
It is nothing too special, mediocre SNES graphics at best.
What did I think after playing Super Mario Kart?
This game was more infuriating than I had expected, there was one level that totally did not sit well with me and that is the reason I ended up with a silver trophy! If you have anger issues, you should stay away from this game. If you are winning, chances are you are going to get shot out of the level right before the finish!
My favorite character is Luigi, I have no clue why though. He always has been, since I was young! This is not a game that I would say, let’s play this for hours. Your rage would get the best of you!

I hated this game, it just made me angry! I hate racing games! Maybe F-Zero is better.

This game is perhaps, the most infuriating of all Mario Karts, why? Because the controls are very sluggish! You are going to need a lot of practice to get this game under your thumbs!

I tried this on the SNES online app on the Switch a while ago and I couldn't play for long! I'm too young to have any memories of it and that's really the only reason anyone would probably play this lol! Personally Mario Kart Wii has been my favourite, so much freedom and fun in driving
