Happy Fall review

Happy Fall review

Introduction

Today we are going to review a simple game that we can find on the mobile, what if a jelly keeps falling down platforms? That is almost all that you will find in Happy Fall. You will need to score the most points while you keep falling down. There are power ups to collect, special skills to activate and even upgrade your jelly. If you collect enough coins, you can even buy different costumes. This game has no story, thus there is no story section in this review.

What did I think before playing Happy Fall?

I was looking for mobile games to review, something simple or maybe complex. I want to review many games, that includes odd games like Happy Fall, it is your goal to fall down a platform while scoring points and avoiding obstacles. We will go into detail into these obstacles in the gameplay section, for now we are going to the app page for more information.

The app store page

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noodlecake.happyfall&hl=en&gl=US
The page is small but informative enough for a game that is available for the mobile, it is also free. It is your goal to get as far down possible while avoiding the flies. There are power ups that can help you with that, but if you act too slow, you will also lose!

Rating

I rate Happy Fall with a 6.5 before playing.
While it seems like a fun mobile game, it seems like it has repetitive gameplay.

Gameplay

The gameplay takes place in the same level over and over again, but as you upgrade your jelly with the coins that you will collect while falling down, the missions that you need to complete will become harder. These can range from moving through a few platforms at once or even collecting no coins at all. These missions are important as they will grant you extra buffs, a head start in a new game or maybe even something else!

Once you completed a few games, you will have some coins stacked up, these can be used for new costumes, like a poo that can fall, but maybe it would be better to use your coins to upgrade your falling speed, maybe even your gliding speed. These can be upgraded multiple times, making it faster to the lower levels of this game, where more coins await you! These can then once again be used to upgrade your character.

If you are not looking for upgrades, you can choose different upgrades, maybe a freeze spell, or even a magnet to suck up coins! The best upgrade would be the armor, as you will come across flies and your armor will keep you save, however apples can be used timely to take them out as well. Flies will otherwise kill you, use your upgrades wisely to gain more coins and new upgrades! If you collect all the letters, you will become a shiny jelly and destroy everything in your path, even the platforms!

Rating

I rate the gameplay of Happy fall with a 7.1.
The gameplay might be a bit repetitive but for a mobile game, it can eat away some of your time.

Sound and Graphics

Graphics

The graphics of Happy Fall are simple but yet charming, the new costumes are fun, you can even be an ice cream! There is only one monster, which is a bit sad. However, the shiny effect is good though! This is a mobile game with a very simple graphical concept.

Sound

The soundtrack is quite boring but for the sound effects, I only have thing to say about that, SHINY!

Rating

I rate the sound and graphics of Happy Fall with a 5.5.
While the game is simple with a boring soundtrack, it keeps being fun when the jelly shouts shiny when collecting the letters!

What did I think after playing Happy Fall?

While I had a lot of fun when playing this game, it was also easy to pick up, play a game and then leave it alone for a bit. Collecting coins was a good way to upgrade your jelly.  The missions were a fun way to keep you coming back to collect new stars, which gives you more buffs!

For a video, I decided to try and break my record and upgrade some of my abilities! I did not use any of my coins to buy new costumes, that was more something that I would have saved for the final upgrades. It was a fun game, but it also was easy to put down and forget for a long time.

Rating

I rate Happy Fall with a 6.4 after playing.
While it is a fun game, it is not a game that will captivate you for long.

What are my personal thoughts about Happy Fall?

I had a lot of fun, but I thought the costumes were too expensive, it was better to spend the coins on upgrades! This is not a game that I would play a long time.

Rating

My personal Rating of Happy Fall is a 5.5
While fun, there was not a lot of content to play around with,

Can you become shiny enough to defeat the flies with your new armor? It is up to you to use your coins wisely!

  7. I have literally zero interest in such a low effort mobile "game". Even calling it a 'game' makes me ouncomfortable.

    • Not all games can be good, we try to look at mobile games too as it is a huge library of games. Now you know to avoid this game!
